Michael Snyder (aka Guitar Dog)

Lead Guitar, Rhythm Guitar, Slide Guitar and Acoustic Guitar

Michael grew up in Southwest Virginia and now lives in Spring Hill, TN. After years of piano lessons, Michael began playing guitar at the ripe old age of 13. After numerous cover bands, Michael ventured to Hollywood, CA for a semester at G.I.T. (part of Musician's Institute). From there, he made his way to Belmont University in Nashville, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Composition and Arranging.

While raising kids, Michael took an unplanned dozen-year break from music. During that hiatus, Michael delved into the world of creative writing, and eventually published three novels with Harper Collins, as well as dozens of short stories and flash fiction pieces.

 

Around 2011, Michael was asked to play on the worship team at his church in Spring Hill, so he dusted off his old gear and relearned the instrument. He now performs with several bands, still plays in church, and even dabbles in bluegrass as a rather lame mandolin, banjo, and dobro player!
